What Do Vampire Facials Involve?
PRP facial treatments take approximately half an hour. During the treatment session, the physician first draws six test tubes of blood from the patient’s arm. Each test tube contains 10 ml, which means that the physician draws a total of 60 ml of blood, per session. The physician then inserts the test tubes into a machine called a centrifuge. This machine is responsible for rapidly spinning the blood and separating the PRP fluid from within.
Once the plasma has been filtered, the physician injects it back into the patient’s face. There are two ways to perform the injection. The first, more traditional way, is using a simple syringe. The second, more advanced and innovative way, involves the use of a dedicated injection gun.
Is it better to receive PRP treatments with an injection gun or a syringe?
The injection gun is considered more advanced and efficient than the syringe. Its advantage lies in its ability to optimally disperse the plasma, as the injection gun is based on an air pressure mechanism, which helps improve blood flow to the face and its skin, promoting regeneration.
Using the injection gun also enables surface-deep penetration of the skin, so as to encourage increased collagen creation. Collagen creation helps erase wrinkles and prevent their reappearance. The air pressure-based technology also enables the treatment to be experienced as gentler and less painful, as compared to injections performed with an ordinary syringe. The syringe, however, does enable more precision and the injection of faster-clotting substances, such as in the case of iPRF injections.

How Many PRP Treatment Sessions Are Recommended?
The answer to this question depends on each patient’s starting point, and what they wish to achieve through the treatment. In certain cases, one treatment a year suffices. Should the patient wish to significantly improve their skin texture, it is recommended to undergo three PRP treatments, with a month-long break between sessions.
Do PRP Facials Cause Side Effects?
Plasma-based treatments are 100% natural and effective for the long-term. As the plasma fluid is basically produced from the patient’s own blood, and contains no other substances, there’s no significant risk associated with the treatment. On rare occasions, the patient may experience extremely mild side effects, such as slight redness or swelling of the injected area, but those side effects vanish as quickly as they appear.
Who Should Get Vampire Facials?
PRP face treatments are suitable for men and women alike, so long as they do not take blood thinners.
