Skin Booster treatments involve the injection of hyaluronic acid into the upper part of the skin’s middle tissue, called the dermis or papillary. The acid impacts the creation of fibroblast cells, which increase the creation of collagen and elastin – natural fibers that are essential to skin flexibility and elasticity.

Hyaluronic Acid – Cross-linked or Not – What’s the Difference?
A quick Google search will reveal that hyaluronic acid has become a multi-use tool in modern-day aesthetic medicine. Note that there are differences between hyaluronic acid that’s used to increase volume and fill the skin, and the hyaluronic acid that’s used in the Skin Booster.
Connections within the hyaluronic acid’s molecules, in its natural form within the body, are weak. This causes the substance to be mostly liquid and have a low lifespan (i.e. it breaks down quickly). This type of hyaluronic acid is also known as non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid. This is the type that’s used in the Skin Booster.
Conversely, the hyaluronic acid that’s used to increase volume has stronger molecular connections. This causes the liquid to be more viscous and have a longer lifespan. Its name is cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

About the Skin Booster Treatment
- The first stage: An initial consultation at the clinic. During the consultation, the attending physician will learn about the patient’s skin condition, discover any existing skin sensitivities, and formulate a personalized treatment plan that reflects the patient’s wishes.
- The second stage: The treatment. After an anesthetic is applied to relevant areas of the face, the physician will inject the Skin Booster into target face sites, as per the treatment plan.
- Duration: Approximately 30 minutes. It only takes 15 minutes for the injections themselves.
- How many treatments are needed? Generally, to achieve optimal results, three treatments should be administered. The treatments should be spaced out by a few weeks.
- Side effects: The injections can cause local swelling, redness, and burst blood vessels. These side effects quickly disappear on their own, generally after a few days to a week.
